Martin Burkhardt
Dr. Martin Burkhardt is a lecturer in the Department of Social Work at Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. Since 2008, he has been working as a parish priest, and since 2020 he is also the responsible parish priest of the Evangelical Student Community (ESG). Beforehand, he was a lecturer at a church-based educational institution in Tanzania (2001-2008). Together with local colleagues, he founded an orphan service, which carried out the social work of the Lutheran Church in northern Tanzania. From 2005-2008, he was the secretary of the Diakonia (welfare organization), responsible for 150 communities.
With his book on “Neuronal Theology” (2018), Dr. Burkhardt intends to build a scientific “bridge” between theology and neuroscience.
