The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT is characterised by a techno-economic perspective on digitalisation issues with a strong focus on business management. The division develops innovative solutions for individual problems that always integrate all levels of the company architecture. It also provides impetus for digitalisation strategies and transformative change processes in companies. The expertise at the interface of financial management, information management and business informatics as well as the ability to combine methodological know-how at the highest scientific level with a customer-, goal- and solution-oriented approach are its special characteristics.

The Augsburg AI Production Network was launched in autumn 2020 as part of the Bavarian High-Tech Agenda. The diverse possibilities offered by artificial intelligence (AI) are intended to keep the manufacturing industry in the Augsburg economic region competitive and make it fit for the future.
