Objective

The Fablab (fabrication laboratory) offers our students a meeting point where they can work creatively and independently in the areas of 3D printing, electronics (design, assembly, soldering, measuring) and mechanical processing. The lab can be used any time – after registration – for projects, Bachelor and Master theses, practical activities and more.

Using the laboratory

A safety briefing is required to use the laboratory. To arrange an appointment, please get in touch with one of the contact partners.

Equipment

The FabLab’s equipment is continuously expanded and adapted to new tasks. Currently, the equipment comprises:

Two workstations with dual-boot (Linux, Windows)

Linux software: Cura, OpenSCAD, Blender, ...
Windows software: Autodesk Inventor

3D printers: Ultimaker 2+, Ultimaker 2+ extended, Ultimaker 2 Go, Ultimaker 3, Prusa I3 MK2, Raise3D-N2
Multifunctional printer (copying, faxing, printing CDs/DVDs, printing)
LED projector
Soldering station with soldering steam extraction. Soldering with conventional tip as well as hot air
Digital oscilloscope, digital multimeter, programmable and controllable power supply units
Breadboard and passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors)
Milling machine (under constructions)
Stand drill (model building, drilling circuit boards)
Circular saw (model building, cutting circuit boards)
Drilling machine (DIY type)
Heat gun and heat shrink tubing set
Hot glue gun
Industrial vacuum cleaner
Work bench with vise and tools for “rough” work (hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen keys, files…)
