Your application portfolio should give us as good an idea as possible of your conceptual-creative, artistic-design and technical-craft skills and abilities. We expect approx. 20 examples of your work in the techniques and media of your choice (e.g. drawing, painting, photography, collage, or sculptures and 3D objects, which must be submitted again in digital form.
You will find all important information on how to submit your application portfolio during the application period May/June) on our application portal.
It is important to us that your work gives us an impression of how you perceive your environment, which topics you deal with, where you find ideas and how you develop them further. For this reason, we like to see sketchbooks, development studies or storyboards that reveal your working or thinking process. We value diversity of ideas and originality that shows an independent handwriting. Of course, the quality of a work can also consist in the precise observation, reproduction or creative interpretation of a motif (nature studies, portrait and nude drawings, animal studies, etc.). Graphic and spatial composition, an interesting composition of the picture or the use of colour, for example, can distinguish a work.
Choose topics, motifs and techniques that do not overtax you and, as far as possible, bring out your strengths and reflect your interests. But also remember that drawings based on images (magazines, mangas, etc.) reveal something about your interests but little about your talent as a designer.
Links and QR Codes may be added to your portfolio, but please notice that we don't except Instagram or Behance accounts on its own as portfolio.
