The technology transfer centers of the Technical University of Applies Sciences Augsburg

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, Germany, together with companies, develops innovative solutions for the region in five technology transfer centres (TTZ) at the outdoor locations of Nördlingen, Donauwörth, Landsberg am Lech, Aichach and Gersthofen.

The thematic focus of a TTZ is on the need in the region. The TTZ of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg are particularly geared to the needs of industry and crafts in Bavarian Swabia and the cities and districts in which they are located – but their research achievements have a leading impact far beyond the region.

For companies – including companies in the manufacturing industry, the construction industry and the trades – the technology transfer centres of THA are important partners in various key areas. They turn to TTZ researchers to develop innovative solutions for their real needs and also to design tailor-made further training with them.

Research results on specific company concerns are achieved. These are used directly on site and are then transferred as blueprints beyond the region. In this way, new technologies are created in joint research projects. Students from THA and employees of companies regularly take up seminars and further education courses at the TTZ. Young researchers are part of the TTZ as part of their doctoral projects.

The technology transfer centers of THA contribute to ensuring competitiveness in the Bavarian-Swabian region with findings from research as well as through the training and further education of specialists.

Technology transfer centres are an initiative sponsored by the Free State of Bavaria. They are currently being funded in the start-up phase as part of the high-tech agenda Bavaria.
