Compulsory elective (AWP)
Short version
- A general compulsory elective (AWP) is a compulsory elective subject offered by the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences.
- The study and examination regulations (SPO) of the degree programmes determine to what extent AWP subjects have to be successfully completed. Restrictions can also be defined there.
Description
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers numerous courses on general science topics: ethics, philosophy, history, politics, art, culture, technology, languages, social skills, etc.
As part of your studies, you must usually take one or more of these subjects and complete them successfully. The scope of the so-called AWP subjects is determined in the study and examination regulations (SPO) of your degree programme. However, you are free to take further AWP events as electives.
Note that for mache courses, there are also restrictions on the selection of AWP subjects. However, you are free to take subjects that you cannot take as an AWP subject as electives.
