As a rule, the study is completed by a university examination.
In individual courses of study, the examinations in general are taken during the study on the basis of examination regulations, which are issued by the university by statutes and require approval by the president.
For each course of study there is a separate study and examination regulations (see legal regulations). This study and examination regulations serves to fill and supplement the framework examination regulations and the general examination regulations of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg dated 10. June 2009.
The examination regulations regulate the examination requirements and the examination procedure.
In particular, it must regulate:
- the purpose of the examination, the subject matter of the examination and the requirements in the examination
- the examination bodies
- the requirements for admission to the examination, for the acquisition of admission requirements and their repeatability
- the crediting of study periods, study and examination performance in other courses of study, in distance learning or at other universities
- Standard dates for examinations accompanying the study and the basic and guidance examples as well as the deadlines for reporting on these examinations
- the standard period of study and the scope of the required courses
- the publication of the examination and notification of the examination participants
- the form and procedure of the examination
- the processing times for the preparation of written examination papers and the consequences of violations of examination regulations
- the principles for the evaluation of each examination and the determination of the overall examination result
- the repetition of the examination; for the first repetition of the examination, a notice period of maximum six months is to be set
- the academic degree to be awarded after passing the exam
