Burkhard Erdlenbruch - Home Page

Welcome!

Here I'm presenting some pictures and information from my private sphere - for friends, fellows, acquaintances, and others. This "home page" is meant to provide a general view of the many pages. That's why short descriptions of the various subject areas follow immediately. After that, an explanation of the navigational means at this web site, the site notice, and the privacy policy will round off this page. If questions or suggestions emerge, please send an e-mail.

For any pages available only in German, please consider using an online translator. For instance in the Google Chrome browser, just right-click somewhere in the page and select Translate from the pop-up menu.

Pilot

Full-size Flying

I have been doing this quite intensely for a while, but I gave it up years ago. Several aerial pictures, but "ground" pictures as well, from the 1980s show how it was for me back then. Since we flew to the North Sea islands quite frequently there are also some "atmospheric" pictures of beaches. (Text in German, menu in English.)

Snoopy

Model Flying

I had done that as a teenager but had given it up in 1969. After a 30 years hiatus I started to do it again in 1999, also as a surrogate for "real" (full-size) flying, and keep doing it.

Reviews of my models, flight simulators, and R/C equipment. Download of my numerous "virtual" models for the REFLEX XTR² simulator as well as calculations of models and their electric drives. (Text mostly in German, but important pages and all menus even in English.)

Model Railroading

As a child I had a H0 model railroad layout, but as from 1984 I collected N-scale locomotives and cars. A simple testing layout is enough for me since I'm just after prototypical driving behavior with DCC electronics and a control program. Later, several H0e-scale locos and cars fit the N-scale tracks. Recently, some streetcar models have been added with some H0 track.

Here are very few articles about my experiences with electronically and automatically controlled model railroads and some decoder configurations for download.

Photography

When I was 18 years old I started photographing on journeys and trips. That was photographing on film, of course. Here I tell (in English) how it was back then (and later with digital) and show the best pictures I shot "casually" on journeys.

In 2005, it had been discussed and tried how to make panorama pictures for flight simulator sceneries. My experiences are summarized here (again in English) including an example.

Garden

Our Garden in Friedberg in 2005

The rented house in Friedberg had a beautiful and "near-natural" garden. From May till November before we moved out, I shot a panorama picture every month and additionally some wide-angle pictures of the house in September. (Text in German, menu in English.)

Navigation

On the left margin is always a fixed menu on light blue background. On top of that is a more or less appropriate icon/symbol for the respective subject area. Below it follow clickable lines for sending me an e-mail and to return to this home page.

Finally follow the actual menu entries, first one for the main page of the respective subject area and then (indented) several ones for sub-pages.

A colon (:) following a menu entry indicates that you are at that very page or one of its sub-pages.

An ellipsis (…) following a menu entry indicates that you will be led to sub-pages of this page or to another subject area. The sub-pages are either already listed below (indented) or will be listed after clicking the menu entry.

At top and bottom of each page are always these arrow-shaped symbols as a second means for page navigation. They are always in the same place or replaced by a blank symbol.

The first symbol stands for the respective super-page.
Then follow symbols for the previous page,
page bottom (at top) or top (at bottom), respectively,
the next page and,
where applicable, one or more series of sub-pages.

The mouse pointer hovering over a symbol will show an explanation (also here on the left side), clicking with the mouse leads to the respective page (but not here on the left side).

In most pages are several links to other pages on this site and on other (external) sites. Upon clicking on those links, internal pages are displayed in the same browser window (or tab) while external pages are displayed in a new one.

The usual underlining of Web links in your browser is deactivated here. Instead, hopefully suitable link colors are set. That applies to all links, internal and external alike, as well as to the menu on the left margin.

Links not used so far are in light red, links visited before in medium blue. Active links you're just viewing are in light blue, and links the mouse pointer is hovering over or that have gotten the window focus by moving with the tab key are in medium red.
