This course is tailored for students in different programmes of study who want to strengthen their English language skills across various communication formats, focusing on writing and professional communication. Students will cultivate critical thinking, intercultural competence, and practical application skills, equipping them for success in diverse professional settings. The course takes an inclusive approach that respects and incorporates diverse disciplines.
By the end of the course, participants will have:
- Strengthened their ability to write for a range of contexts.
- Learned to effectively incorporate AI tools into the learning and writing process, using them to produce professional texts, enhance general language skills, and transfer these skills to other languages and contexts.
- Developed and applied communication strategies for building professional relationships, resolving issues, and excelling in diverse multicultural environments.
- Developed proficiently in all language skills (speaking, reading, listening, and writing).
Inhalte
Participants will engage in:
- Simulating Professional Writing Scenarios, including a collaboration with international partners through written exchanges.
- AI-assisted Writing: Use AI tools and instructor guidance to refine writing skills and produce professional texts
- Writing Project: Research, draft, revise, and edit a project tailored to professional interests, leading to short (poster) presentations
- Collaborative Writing: Work in teams on writing tasks and provide and receive constructive peer feedback.
Writing tasks will cover various formats, including analytical, creative and reflective texts and persuasive writing. The course takes a dynamic, practical approach to developing writing skills while fostering social competencies essential for professional success.
