With the start of the new summer term, an innovative project has been launched: a collaboration between the master program International Business and Finance and the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich. This initiative was brought to life by the program director, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Feix.

Bridging Disciplines: Synergies Between Business, Arts, and Global Collaboration

The working title of this approach is "Academia Meets Culture Meets Management." As Wayne McGregor, director of the Royal Ballet in London, highlighted in a TED Talk, bridging different disciplines and breaking down mental barriers allows us to explore complex patterns and achieve top-tier performance—whether in management, academia, culture, or sports. The Bavarian State Ballet, with its ensemble of dancers from 24 nationalities, reflects the international spirit of the IBF Master’s Program, where 90% of students come from abroad. This collaboration serves as a strong example of the power of international cooperation.

As a first step in this partnership, the master class had the privilege of attending a performance of Le Parc by the Bavarian State Ballet at the Munich Opera. This event was not only an excellent ballet performance but also an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience, featuring a special introduction by the Munich Ballet director Laurent Hilaire. It was quite charming to learn from Laurent that he was the first to dance the famous 'Flying Kiss' in Le Parc (the photo at THA for the cooperation with the Bavarian State Ballet) at the Opéra de Paris in 1994. Hilaire remarked that it was our duty to make people meet, emphasizing the importance of creating platforms for discovering diverse methods and breaking down national and cultural boundaries.

The exchange of ideas and perspectives is also the core message of the newly launched promotional video for the IBF master program. The film production began last week, and there is great anticipation for the final result and things to come.
