Master International Business and Finance Welcomes New Cohort Amid Record Growth
The start of the new semester marks another milestone for the master programme International Business and Finance (IBF). On the 1st of October, study programme director, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Feix, proudly welcomed the newest cohort - 40 new students, carefully selected from an impressive pool of 500 applications. Over recent years, the IBF programme has positioned itself as one of the most competitive and prestigious master’s degrees in the field of management and finance, attracting top talents from across the globe.
Continuous Development and Global Reach
The IBF programme has been on a path of continuous improvement, driven by a combination of student and alumni feedback, and collaboration with key industry figures. These efforts have been crucial in ensuring the curriculum stays current with the fast-paced and ever-changing demands of the global business landscape.
Students and graduates alike contribute valuable insights that have helped to shape the programme. The consistent effort to refine and enhance the learning experience has led to the IBF becoming a benchmark in international business education. Over the past few years, the programme has garnered widespread recognition for its practical approach and its ability to prepare graduates for high-level careers in finance and management.
Key Features of the IBF Programme
The global diversity of the students is a hallmark of the programme. This year’s cohort again brings together students from a wide variety of countries, offering a rich mix of perspectives and experiences. This international composition provides an ideal environment for students to broaden their understanding of different markets and business cultures.
Another defining characteristic is its blending of theory and practice. The programme is structured around the principle of “Classroom theory matches Corporate World,” offering students the chance to work on real-world projects, participate in research, visit leading companies, and engage in discussions with industry leaders. This approach ensures that students graduate with both a strong academic foundation and practical skills that are immediately applicable in the corporate world.
Expanding Industry Connections
Strong partnerships with companies have developed over the last few years, including Porsche/&Charge, Daimler, CRX-Markets, BMW, Allianz, Hugo Boss, Big4 Transaction Services and Strategy Consulting, bringing board-level executives and industry leaders as guest lecturers to share their expertise. These partnerships provide students with unique opportunities to hear from board members and senior executives, who frequently participate as guest lecturers. By bringing real-world insights into the classroom, these collaborations give students a firsthand look at the current trends and challenges shaping the industry today.
The new cohort of IBF students is set to benefit from these connections and gain valuable exposure to industry leaders through seminars, company visits, and interactive sessions. The programme’s focus on practical engagement ensures that students are also well-prepared to enter competitive industries upon graduation. It remains committed to shaping the next generation of business and finance leaders.
