Architecture (BA)Project description
Since September 2013, architectural students at the 'University of Applied Sciences' in Augsburg, have been working on extending a school in Kenya. The realization of the project will start in August 2014.
The project combines sustainable and local architecture with a charitable cause: The school is offering different classes in craftsmen`s skills to people from the slums of Nairobi. Their scholarship is paid for by a German & Kenyan organisation, collaborating on managing the school. The classes run regularly and successfully, therefore the school will be expanded, with more classrooms and accomodation to come.
