Matlab (Campus wide license)

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg has a "Campus Wide License" (campus license) for MATLAB, Simulink and supplementary toolboxes. This license allows lecturers (professors and lecturers), staff and students of our university to use the products contained for research, teaching and studying, both on university-owned and private devices.

The license is financed by the faculties of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and business.

The license does not apply to the commercial use of MathWorks products.

For installation you need several things:

MATLAB portal

As part of the campus license, MathWorks has set up a MATLAB portal for our Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg in the form of a website. This is designed to simplify the management of the license (activation and installation) for end users.

The portal can be visited at the following link:

Resources to get started:

The following MathWorks basic products are also part of the campus license. If necessary, please contact the data center to be added as an end user:

  • RoadRunner : an interactive editor that allows you to design 3D scenes for simulation and testing automated driving systems.
  • Polyspace : proves the absence of critical runtime errors in your embedded C/C++ code using formal methods.
  • MATLAB Parallel Server : Execute computing-intensive MATLAB programs and Simulink models in a cluster or as batch jobs.
  • MATLAB Web App Server to host MATLAB apps and Simulink simulations as interactive web apps.

Annual Activation

The runtime of an existing installation can be extended via the Matlab GUI (Help Button -> Licensing -> Update Current Licenses). The computer must be online. Select the license and have the update performed. The authentication is done with the Mathworks account. Further information can be found here.
