Printing and plotting

A fee is charged for the use of the IT Service Center printers/plotters and laboratories (prices in euros, applicable to members of Augsburg UAS only). Payment must be made through the PaperCut billing system.

Procedure

You can pick up your plotter print-outs in room H3.03 (H building, 2nd floor, opposite the services office).

A plotter print-out takes at least 3 minutes. At busy times, e.g. just before project and term paper deadlines, the high demand for print-outs means that waiting times can be considerably longer. Please allow extra time for your print-outs to be processed.
Please also note the settings of the plotter formats!

Opening hours for the plotter room

Room H3.03 is accessible at the following times:

During term time
Monday – Thursday: 7.30 a.m. – 9.30 p.m.
Friday: 7.30 a.m. – 7.30 p.m.

Saturday: 7.30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

During semester break
Monday – Thursday: 7.30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday: 7.30 a.m. – 12 noon

Saturay: closed

What is PaperCut?

PaperCut is a printing costs billing system that allows printing costs to be charged to individual users. Each user with a valid IT Services Center login has a print account that can be charged by purchasing a PaperCut Card or by direct debit from the Campus Card Augsburg.

Where is it used?

Print and plotter orders made through the following institutions:

Faculty of Design (DTP workshop)
Library (reading room and color prints)
IT Services Center (printers in the laboratories and in the IT Services Center itself)
Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering (plotter room C4.12)
Faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering (for project work)
Faculty of Business

are now billed solely through this system.

How does PaperCut work?

If you would like to make use of the printing services in one of the above-mentioned institutions, please charge up your print account. This can be done at the print account self-service machine with the credit on your Campus Card Augsburg. These machines are located in front of room H3.06 (services office), in the foyer of the C-building (next to the validation machines) as well as in the foyer in front of auditorium M1.01 (next to the validation machines).

What to keep in mind further?

Transfer balance - balances can be transferred to other PaperCut accouts by using the menu choice "Transfers" within your PaperCut account view. At "Transfer to user" fill in the datacenter account of the beneficiary.

Remaining credit - cannot be payed out.

Facing the end of your studies, please take care to print your credit down. Alternatevly you can transfer the credit to an other fellow student, who will return it to you in cash.

Our members of staff will gladly answer your questions on the spot, too.
