StarkStrom Augsburg e.V.

The presentation will provide an overview of the StarkStrom team and introduce its departments. It aims to convey how the team’s individual departments work hand in hand to become a highly competitive and innovative force in an educational environment. In the mechanic department, all solutions regarding mechanical engineering are being developed. It is mainly responsible for the planning and execution of the frame and body as well as the aerodynamic concept. The team has many quality checks in-place to ensure optimal quality, rigidity, and a precise fit. The mechanical engineering subdivision works closely with the other mechanic teams responsible for developing the suspension and drivetrain, aiming to create a coherent vehicle concept. The electric department consists of the battery systems team responsible for the low- and high-volt accumulators, as well as the electronics team, which develops and produces custom circuit boards and control units, including their programming. The dedicated software department enables the car to sense its surroundings and evaluate the information it receives, allowing the race car to drive autonomously. It is also responsible for providing and maintaining the team’s digital infrastructure. In the operations department, all operative organization of the project is being conducted. Here, internal and external events, such as the yearly rollout, are being organized. Additionally, this team administers StarkStrom Augsburg’s external communication, such as social media channels, newsletter, and public relations.
