The Guest Lecturer Program at Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg

Preparation

If you wish to be active as a guest lecturer at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, please speak to your contact partner at the Faculty first to discuss the type and duration of your stay.

The Faculties have the possibility to declare the planned guest lectureships twice per year:

By 15 January (full year)

By June/ July (depending on date of announcement of remaining funds, will be forwarded in an email to the IFCs - lectureships until the end of the year)

The Faculty receives the "Guest lecturer request" form directly from the International Office. As soon as all information is available and the Faculties have decided on the lectureships, you will receive further details.

Once the funds have been approved, please fill in the form "Antrag-Gastdozenten-Formular_Pro_DC" (received by the IO) and send it to the International Office. Instructions can be found under Guidelines (please log in).

Contract & Visa

If participation in the guest lecturer program is possible, the International Office will prepare your guest lecturer contract. It will be signed by the president and sent to you. Please sign the contract and send it back to the International Office promptly. The contract must be signed before the start of the guest lectureship!

If you require a visa to travel to Germany, the International Office would be pleased to send you an invitation.

You can then organize your stay abroad: Apply for a visa, look for accommodation, etc. The International Office will be pleased to help!

Invoice and taxes

Please prepare an invoice based on the conditions specified in the guest lecturer contract and send it to the International Office. If you wish, the International Office can also send you a template for the invoice.

If you have paid taxes in Germany: You will need the invoice again when preparing your tax return. Therefore, please retain the invoice until then.

Information for the Faculties

Of course, it is also possible to register guest lectureships spontaneously - but the International Office then needs to check what funds are still available.

However, the International Office requires registration of a guest lecturer by the faculty coordinators at least 4 weeks before the start of the lectureship.
