Augmented reality has the potential to make language learning more engaging, interactive and effective. The international workshop as part of the project "Augmented Reality Instructional Design for Language learning (ARIDLL) took place on September 21 and 22, 2023 at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.

The workshop brought together educators and technology experts from Germany, Spain and Norway to discuss and try out the innovative use of augmented reality (AR) in language teaching. The participating teachers also designed their own scenarios with MirageXR which they would like to use in their lessons.

The workshop was led by members of the ARIDLL team (Dr. Mikhail Fominykh, NTNU; Prof. Alice Gruber, THA; Zafrul Huzail, THA; Kheireddine Azzez, Heilbronn University).

The ARIDLL project opens up new opportunities for language teachers and learners and receives funding from the European Union's Erasmus Plus program under grant agreement 2022-1-NO01-KA220-HED-000088034. This financial support underlines the importance of innovative approaches in language teaching and the potential of AR in language learning.
