Objectives

 

This module is tailored to gain knowledge about the core goals, the legal framework important institutions and the decision making procedures of the EU. This course enables to work and to do business successfully with European firms and institutions.

Content

 

Basics and Politics:

  • The core goals and the basic legal framework of EU
  • Pillars and Institutions of the EU: European Commission, Council and Parliament and their functions
  • The European labour markets and its major rules
  • EU competition and state aid policy

Economics and Business:

  • The EU budget and the financial resources of the EU available for firms and institutions
  • The Euro and a common monetary policy
  • The EU and the world trading system
  • Economic strength and weaknesses of the European economies
  • Cross cultural management in the EU member countries
  • Strength and Weaknesses of selected European Industries
