Power Module in fuselage
Materials
- 2.5 sqmm flexible Muldental cable for the battery
- 1.0 sqmm flexible Muldental cable for the charge plug
Cable from Power module to XT90 battery connector
- Cut 285mm of the black 2.5 sqmm flexible Muldental cable
- Cut 270mm of the red 2.5 sqmm flexible Muldental cable
- Remove 10mm of the isolation at the board side
- Remove 12mm of the isolation at the XT90 connector side
- Twist and tin each cable end. Solder iron temperature 350°C.
- Fix the board with the Schraubstock and hold the red cable with helping hand to the free rectangular solder area marked BatPlus.
- Solder the cable to the board
- Solder the black cable to the rectangular area in the BatMinus area
- Add a XT90 plug to the XT90 connector to avoid mechanical damage during soldering
- Place the XT90 connector in a vertical position such that the solder cups point straight up
- Place the tinned cable close to the solder cup but not inside
- Put a little bit of solder tin to the solder tip and heat the solder cup
- Melt a little bit of solder tin with flux in the solder cup
- Now place the cable in the solder cup and fill the solder cup with flux free solder tin
Cable from Power module to ESC
- Cut 210mm of the red 2.5 sqmm Muldental cable
- Cut 190mm of the black 2.5 sqmm Muldental cable
- Cut the ESC power cable to a length of 30mm from the Elko capacitor
- Remove 10mm of the isolation from the ESC cable and from both sides of the Muldental cable
- Tin all open cable ends
- Solder the red cable to the rectangular area in the PlusESC lane besides the MOSFET
- Solder the black cable to the area in the MinusESC lane close to the MOSFET
- Place the red ESC cable and the red Power cable from the Power module in a blue solder sleeve and hold both cables with a helping hand
- Heat the solder sleeve with a Steiner HL 1910E on level 5-6 until the solder ring in the solder sleeve melts
- Do the same for the black cable
Cable from ESC to Motor
- Remove 5mm of the black, blue and red ESC cable to the motor to remove the prepared tin
- Cut 3 x 130mm of the Muldental 2.5 sqmm cable
- Remove 10mm of the isolation at the solder sleeve side on each cable (ESC and Muldental)
- Remove 5mm of the isolation from the Muldental cable side which will be connected to the motor plugs
- Tin all cable ends
- Place the cables 10mm free ends in a blue solder sleeve and heat with HL 1910E at level 5-6 until the solder ring melts
- Add a motor plug to the motor connector for mechanical protection
- Install the motor connector with 45° in the Schraubstock such that you can see the small soldering hole
- Hold the cable with the 5mm removed isolation with a helping hand in the solder cup
- Solder with 350°C.
- The motor connector will be protected with a shrinking tube with hot melt.
- Cut 20mm of the shrinking tube and place the tube over the motor connector
- Shrink the shrinking tube with the Steiner HL1910E with level 3
The cables of the Extron motor are: W, V, U (left to right, seen from back)
