Ph. D. students
The Ph. D. students of the HSA_ired are employed as research associates and as such, they predominantly finance themselves through research & development work for third-party funds. One part of these works is contract research for companies, while another part is public funding. The Ph. D. graduation typically takes 3 to 6 years.
Master of Applied Research
As a research institute, we are committed to the education of our junior scientists. Therefore, we offer research oriented subjects for project theses in the bachelor and master programmes of our faculties. A number of these projects are performed by students of the Master of Applied Research programme, a joint master programme of bavarian universities of applied sciences, which includes platforms for the exchange of ideas between universities, such as the annual Applied Research Conference (ARC) for students of all member universities.
Developer's Monday
Beyond the predetermined paths of study programmes, the Developer's Monday offers ways to realise home-made hardware and/or software projects, or to join the projects of like-minded fellow students, independent from any previous knowledge.
You may benefit from both the equipment of the high frequency lab as the play area, and an unlimited thirst for action of the visitors, namely students, alumni and researchers of the institute.
(on Mondays at 6 pm in the lab E 6.01)
Amateur radio
An amateur radio station is operated by members of the institute for teaching purposes. Its callsign DF Ø HSA has been assigned by the Federal Network Agency. The station further operates a node of the IP based HAMNET, a wireless international network.
The facility allows legal transmission operation on frequency bands released for amateur radio, enabling many possible student projects and theses in the field of wireless communication engineering.
