Application

1. Nomination

The study abroad advisor of your home institution informs the International Office of the Augsburg Technical University of Applied Sciences about your participation.

They contact  Katharina Leuthmetzer, our incoming coordinator, sending the standard information and forwarding the "Statement of support and credit eligibility" in addition to the "Report on eligibility" from your academic referee.

The "Statement of support and credit eligibility" refers to possible visa requirements and acknowledges whether the internship is mandatory or voluntary.

2. Getting to know the supervising professor

After receiving your institutional application, the project supervisor of the Augsburg Technical University contacts you to arrange a meeting. You will get to know each other, and

• ensure appropriation,
• clarify internship content, and
• decide start and end date, duration, and credit amount.

3. Digital application form

The supervisor informs the International Office about both of your decisions. Given a common agreement, you receive further information on the preparation, the link to the application form, and the Learning agreement.

4. Letter of acceptance

Once you have completed the application form, Ms. Leuthmetzer will send you the Letter of acceptance and, if a visa is necessary, a confirmation for the German Mission Abroad.

1. Learning Agreement and nomination

Before your application at the Augsburg Technical University, you prepare your Learning Agreement in accordance with your study abroad advisor. In the Learning agreement, you note

• the research project title without credits*,
• the field courses in English that are available for the A2S according to the course offer and
• further courses you would like to add.

When choosing your A2S courses, please consider the conditions for adding General elective courses and courses offered by the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication to your A2S. You find further details under the Applied Study Semester (A2S) on the Application-oriented exchange semester.

Your study abroad advisor contacts  Katharina Leuthmetzer, our incoming coordinator, sending the standard information and forwarding the Learning agreement, your current Transcript of records, and the Report on eligibility from your academic referee.

*The number of credits will be fixed in consultation with the supervising professor. The credit range for the practical part of the A2S is between 8 and 10 credits in total. If you apply to write your Bachelor's or Master's thesis, you only need to choose a research project.

2. Getting to know the supervising professor

At this point, the supervising professor of the research project contacts you to arrange a meeting. You will get to know each other, and

• ensure appropriation,
• clarify the content of your practical work, and
• decide the number of credits.

The supervisor informs the International Office about both of your decisions. 

3. Digital application form

Given a common agreement and confirmation of the participation in the chosen courses, you receive further information about the preparation and the link to the application form, the Learning agreement for the final acknowledgment by your home institution (study abroad advisor) and to be uploaded again in the online application form.

4. Letter of Acceptance

Once you have completed the application form, Ms. Leuthmetzer will send you the Letter of Acceptance and, if a visa is necessary, a confirmation for the German Mission Abroad.
