Stibet - Scholarship and mentoring program

The combined scholarship and support program (STIBET) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is funded by the Federal Foreign Office and provides support and scholarship funds for foreign students.
The overriding aim of STIBET is to contribute to improving the academic success of foreign students.
Augsburg University of Applied Sciences participates in the STIBET I (and DAAD award) and STIBET III (matching funds scholarships) program lines.

Project description STIBET I (and DAAD prize)

The STIBET I program serves to improve the supervision and support of foreign students. The strategic internationalization goals of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences are to be implemented by creating hospitable structures, among other things.

The aim is to increase the attractiveness of Augsburg as a place to study, to increase cultural exchange between different nationalities and to strengthen partnerships with (inter)national and regional partners.

The objectives are to be achieved by means of the following measures:

• Various offers in the introductory phase of studies, for example during Orientation Week or at the reception for foreign students
• Intercultural events
• Scholarships for particularly committed students
• Workshops and events for international students

DAAD Prize: In addition, the DAAD provides funding from the Federal Foreign Office (AA) to recognize outstanding students.
