Born in Kansas City, Missouri (USA). Alisa Kasle-Henke came to Germany to study in Freiburg in Breisgau for a year’s exchange while a student at the University of Vermont. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Vermont in Political Science and German Studies, she initially worked in Vienna, Austria as a Fulbright Teaching assistant. She then went on to do a Magister degree (a 3-subject, 6-year program) at the University of Paderborn in American and German studies and Social Sciences. During her studies in Paderborn, she taught both courses at the university and in addition freelance English communication courses in companies such as Siemens-Nixdorf. Upon completion of the degree, she worked in Berlin at the Humboldt-Universität among other places. 2002 Alisa moved to Bavaria where she began to focus on presentations, negotiations, and intercultural communication courses in companies, at universities, and in teacher workshops. 2010 she was hired at the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg in the Language Center (50%) in charge of Advanced Business English communication courses and in 2015 she joined the Business School (50%) in charge of the Cross-Cultural Management and intercultural communication courses.
