First Steps
Welcome to the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences
Enrollment
Enrollment
After making your application (usually online) to Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, you will receive a letter of acceptance or rejection.
When you have received your letter of acceptance, you still have to enroll (register) at the university. You will not become a member of Augsburg UAS and receive student status until you have enrolled.
You may only enroll at a German university. Enrollment at two universities simultaneously is only possible in special cases; both universities must give their agreement. Likewise, enrollment in more than one degree program is only permitted in exceptional cases. For further information, please contact the Student Office.
The deadlines for enrollment are given for each new semester. Your letter of acceptance will tell you the dates between which you can enroll.
When you have enrolled, you will receive your Campus Card. The Campus Card is the student identity card for Augsburg UAS in the form of a multifunctional chip card. It also functions as a ticket for the Augsburg public transportation system (Semester Ticket). You will be given your master password for your IT Services Center user ID when you receive your Campus Card.
Break-down of the fees to be paid
- Student Services fee
Student Services provide services for all matters connected to your studies, such as questions about scholarships, accommodation services, advice on social benefits and legal matters, information about the dining halls and cafeterias and so on. Visit http://www.studentenwerk-augsburg.de for further details. Student Services are mainly financed through sales revenues and voluntary funding by the state. As well as this, students have to make a small contribution to the costs of the services provided for their benefit.
- Semester Ticket
Augsburg Student Services provides a semester ticket in collaboration with the Augsburg public transportation system. You can use your student identity card, in combination with your personal identity card or passport, for unlimited travel within zones 10 and 20 on all routes of the city and regional transportation systems (AVV buses, 2nd class travel on local trains, VGA buses and trams with the exception of night buses).
If you are severely disabled and are therefore entitled to free travel on public transportation, and are in possession of the relevant documents and tokens, you do not need to pay the fee for the semester ticket. Please provide the Student Office at the university with the necessary documents as proof.
For the current fees charged, please see the table fees and charges.
Once you are enrolled at the university, you will be given all of the most important information about the individual fees and procedures for payment.
Special cases
As a rule, you can only enrol at one German university. Double enrolment is only possible in very special cases and requires the approval of both universities. Enrolment in more than one degree programme is also only possible in very rare cases. For more information, please contact the Students Office.
