HSA_ired belongs to the Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Institute for Agile Software Development (THA_ias)
The Institute for Agile Software Development (THA_ias) conducts research in close cooperation with partners from industry and academia in the areas of agile software development, programming languages & security, process digitization, and AI applications. The resulting projects cover a wide range of applications, such as digital health, production technology or digitization of public administration. The education and training of software engineers for the challenges of the future is a central concern of the institute.
Production Technology Center (THA_ptz)
The Production Technology Center of the Technical University of Augsburg (THA_ptz) is the first point of contact for questions about production technology in the Swabia region.
The THA_ptz team generates and transfers new knowledge for the region and trains specialists for Bavarian Swabia as a business location. For this purpose, an efficient research center is being set up, which is geared towards the requirements and the resources already available in the region, both in terms of personnel and equipment.
The aim is to network with companies and research institutions both regionally and nationally.
The Production Technology Center is another Institute of the Technical University of Augsburg and thus a suitable addition to the research landscape of the university.
Overview of our affiliated institutes
Technology Center West Bavaria (TCW)
In the center of the Technology Park West Bavaria is the Technology Center West Bavaria with the business units "Innovation and Startup Center", "ICT Competence Center" and "F&D User Center". New processes, components and products are developed in close cooperation with regional companies in this dedicated technology area. The TCW offers general engineering, marketing and ICT services and coordinates a "Process Automation Cluster". This group of companies focuses on bundling activities in the areas of technology and personnel development, joint procurement, and supplier and partner development.
ITA Augsburg
Since 2014, about ten scientists from the ITA Augsburg – also as part of the "MAI Carbon" group – have been researching carbon fiber-reinforced composites (CFK) with the aim of establishing textile processes and products more firmly in the industry and designing them efficiently for the industry. A special focus is placed on researching digital textile processes and developing sustainable products. Modern textile production lines are available to the scientists in the Sigma Technopark and in the Technology Center Augsburg.
